Portal Crane Training Programs for Operators and Technicians.
The courses are custom made to suit the type, conditions, make of the crane and the unique condition of the site.

The Portal/Rotator Crane is still a unique system in the industry, there are very few opportunities to "learn" the system. The people who have to operate and maintain the crane can only learn "on the job", because of this, there are more incidents and breakdowns with the Portal crane than with any other type of hoist equipment.

Why is a special crane-training program so important?

-Because of it's uniqueness, operating standards, safety and maintenance regulations, in most cases, Portal Cranes are not included under any national or local safety regulations.

- The Portal/Rotator Crane handles and reacts differently than any other equipment on site.

- The unit is vital in production, the reliability factor is extremely important.

Who can benefit from the training program?

Anyone who is involved with the operation or the maintenance of the Portal/Rotator crane will benefit from the training course.

1. Operators: the operator needs to be informed about all aspects of the crane, not just loading and unloading of the product. In order to avoid costly incidents the operator has to understand the basic design and function of the crane. He has to know the crane's limits and the safety aspects of the system.

2. Technicians: Maintenance people have to understand not just their own area, but the crane system in general. It will make them better informed and more efficient in diagnosing problems.

By understanding each other's problems, the operator and technician will tend to communicate in a more efficient way and have a full understanding of each others task.
